“ Had a wonderful lunch today. Tuna to start was a hit and the steak and milk buns for main as a special was super tasty. Lots of spice and fresh flavors washed back with some great crisp cocktails and white vino. A must try ”
“ Fantastic freshly cooked food. Everything was packed full of flavour. I couldn't stop eating it. From the coley to the cauliflower curry. Even got a wee recipe from chef tom for their dressing of the cucumber salad. Definitely worth a try. Only downfall is that none of the meat is halal. However it wasn't an issue. ”
“ Food was excellent, service was quick and friendly. Would 100 percent recommend. We had one mocktail and one cocktail, both excellent. ”
“ Shout out to the chef for the epic corn ribs, salt and Szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms, and green curry of lamb shoulder. The whole meal slapped so hard and oh so good. From the juicy corn ribs that you could almost say "fell off the bone" to the wonderful seasoning and crunch of the oyster mushrooms (didn't even know they could be made this good!), to the mind-blowing lamb shoulder green curry which was so tender, spicy, and delicious in a way that was missing our whole trip. Thanks Ka Pao! My husband and I will certainly be stopping by again if we ever find ourselves back in Scotland. ”
“ If you are looking for great Asian flavors in a beautiful setting, Kao Pao is the place to go. The interior is beautifully designed, with an abundance of natural light and lush greenery, creating a cozy Southeast Asian vibe. The space is well-organized, ensuring plenty of available seating without feeling overcrowded. The staff is very welcoming and attentive! The food is full of rich, authentic flavors, and everything is well-prepared. Really enjoyed the corn ribs - so simple, yet absolutely delicious! A great spot for both a casual meal and a relaxed dinner. ”
“ We booked our reservation in advance and we were seated immediately we arrived. Although the food was quite pricey, it was delicious. I would recommend the stir-fried ox tongue, the green curry and the corn ribs. The milk buns were perfect as well. Drinks were so-so but not terrible, just not memorable. Dessert options were visually stunning and quite tasty too. We loved the mango sorbet. All the wait staff were lovely and very patient with us as it was our first time dining with them. Also, I enjoyed being able to see the chefs work in the kitchen from our table, really elevated the experience for me. Once the sun had set, lighting wasn’t the best in the space because we had to use the flashlights on our phones to read the menu sometimes and we couldn’t really get great pictures of our food at the table. ”
“ Walking in this place randomly, what a surprise The food taste fresh and very tasty. The restaurant is in the shopping male but with floor to ceiling windows on one side , what’s making this place more enjoyable and the view is on the W hotel who’s looking outstanding. Isabella who was our waitress was just perfect. She explained us the food menu perfectly also the drink menu. Isabella was stopping a lot to our table to be sure everything was ok and if needed more. This place is very nice and the service we got was perfect. We had the pardon peppers to start following by the pork and bone marrow sausage and after the green curry lamb shoulder with jasmine rice. Everything was perfect. What they recommended were 2 or 3 dishes per person and it’s enough. On my perspective. I ll be back for sure. Thanks again to Isabella ”
“ All the food was great. Got advice from staff on allergens and what could have nuts removed. Nice to have mussels with an Asian broth for a change. Coconut corn ribs amazing. Would recommend a visit if you ate in Edinburgh. ”
